Trust is a major concern for most people regardless of their relationship status.
The fact is that family, friends, spouses, co-workers and neighbors will all fail to reach our expectations at some point and time in our lives. It is up to us to decide what to do with these letdowns and how they will affect us.
If you are human, you will encounter disappointment…you might even be the culprit.
For example, we tell people we will do something and then we forget. We encourage them to do ‘whatever they want,’ but secretly know that they’d better make the right decision or they are in big trouble. We want others to read our minds because they should ‘know us.’ We insist on allegiance through thick and thin and no matter the circumstances. Sigh….
Sounds like a lot of hoops to jump through just to find a trustworthy companion.
Funny…we expect others to be dependable, when we, ourselves, are not. YIKES! Man, the truth hurts.
As it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one.” Romans 3:10
By the time we reach adulthood, we are hardened by life’s experiences. As a result, we lock our hearts away and securely hide them from the world’s painful grip.
This is no way to live life.
Trusting others is, actually, misplacing our trust. God is the only One we can truly trust with our entire being and following His way leads us through the difficult terrain of life.
Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie! Psalm 40:4
This may all sound like a real downer, but knowing WHO (God) to put our trust in and WHO (humans) not to is a victory in and of itself!!
I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of being disappointed and/or being a disappointment. I want SO MUCH MORE.
God is the answer.
Yes, it’s scary to think of handing over the controls, but the rewards are astronomical. And our faith is directly related to the amount of trust we place in God.
If we place just a little, our faith is just a little. If we place a ton of trust into God’s Hands, He will increase our faith by leaps and bounds. In turn, our lives will be richly blessed with His Presence.
In order to fully place our trust in God, we can’t just give Him a little bit – we have to give Him ALL.
Our days.
Our relationships.
Our emotions.
Our time.
Our good, bad and ugly.
Our money.
Our jobs.
Our families.
Our bodies.
Our heads, hearts and soul.
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. Isaiah 26:3-4
We will receive so much more than we ever deserve if we will place our lives in God’s Trust. He will provide for us, love us and keep us safe. He is our Heavenly Father and with that comes His Protection.
Are you tired of being let down? Do you trust in God or the world?
Some Wisdom for Today: Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
