“The Challenge” is what I’ve got on my blog calendar for today. Hmmm…when in doubt go to scripture!!!
Clearly, I don’t have a clue what I was thinking when I came up with this topic, but this one in particular can be used for an enormous amount of things we deal with in life.
Between mom fails and kid issues to life-changing decisions and sorrow for friends’ tragedies – these are just some of the many challenges that we can face on a daily basis.
Some big, some not so earth-shattering, but challenging all the same.
The real challenge is to keep it all together without getting frustrated or discouraged in the meantime…and this is truly difficult. Sigh.
Of course, that’s what scripture is for!! In fact, today God helped me with my “blog challenge” by bringing me to 1Peter in Chapter 5 and showing me what to do with all these challenges. Love it when He does that!!!
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1Peter 5:6-7
Don’t think I didn’t key into the “due time” portion of that verse!!! Yikes!!
The fact is that our challenges are with us for as long as they are with us and our job is to just lean on God through them. I’d love them to be short, but that isn’t the way it usually is :o(
Strangely, I’m good at the earth-shattering bad stuff, but seem to sweat the small stuff on a regular basis. Crazy!!
This saddens me because I know that it is how we deal with the little things (distractions) that really define who we are. I guess that makes me one hot mess!!! Not shocking, though!
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 1Peter 5:8-9
We each have our own set of issues and some days are worse than others. However, the truth is that when we look to God each morning and give Him our day, He takes the challenges, too!
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 1Peter 5:10
Life is full of challenges and some days will be better or worse than others. But, knowing that God cares about the big and little challenges makes me realize, once again, what an amazing Heavenly Father we have.
The point is that God cares about EVERYTHING IN OUR LIVES, but it’s up to us to bring it ALL TO HIM!!!
Do you bring God all of your challenges?
Some Wisdom for Today: Proverbs 2:7-8 – He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.
