Yep, today Margaret Ann Morgan was born into this world on a cold Chicago Tuesday morning after the Washington Redskins won against the Atlanta Falcons during Monday Night Football.
The joke has long been that mom refused to go to the hospital until the game was over! Never wonder where I get my love for football!!!
As I wake up a day older today…I wonder if I’ve done what I needed to in the past and will I accomplish more in the future. Certainly, this should be a question we ask ourselves every day we are fortunate enough to wake up.
But, birthdays seem to rub our iniquities in our face…especially, as we get into those mid-life ones.
They show us how far we’ve come with so little to show for it. They mock us in the mirror with wrinkles and sun spots at every angle. They lie to us and tell us that the older we get the less valuable we are.
Do not listen to the dummy in the mirror! Hear the voice of God tell you that you are PRECIOUS no matter what day it is!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. John 3:16-17
Hollywood and the media are WRONG. They place value on looks, youth and a size 0 dress.
However, God knows our true value comes from our hearts.
Charm is deceptive, and beauty if fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:20
I’ve always loved my birthday because, well, it’s all about me!! And strangely enough, as I’ve gotten older, I still enjoy my birthdays.
I absolutely refuse to believe that my best days aren’t yet to come. Plus, as a Christian woman, I KNOW that my time here on earth is limited and every day is a training ground for life in God’s Kingdom.
I can only pray that with each day that I’m given…I will give that day to the Lord. AND today I DO!!
What about you?
Some Wisdom for Today: Proverbs 5:18-19 – Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love.
