Happy Anniversary, GEM!

It’s already been a YEAR!  Can you believe that?  I think I’m in shock.  In fact, pinch me because I’m afraid this journey with GEM – God’s Encouragement by Meg – has been a dream!!!

NOPE!  It’s real, alright!

Oh guys!  I have learned, grown, been humbled, been blessed and most of all been LOVED throughout the past year.

What started as an “OK, God…I’ll do it,” has turned into one of the most awesome years of my life.  It’s been difficult at times, easy at times, but the funny thing is that God has made it happen!

Nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. Acts 17:25

I love how God dragged me onto this journey not for HIM, but for ME!!!

It’s amazing how He used the gift of gab He gave to me to spread His love!  I promise you, the words that I’ve written are not of me.  Actually, there have been several occasions when I’ve reread a post and thought, “where did that come from?”  God…DUH!

God has changed me this year.  It still astonishes me that I’ve been obedient!!!  It is definitely by His grace that I have posted twice a week for 52 weeks and only missed FOUR posts.  Good grief!  I am SO not that good.  Thank you, GOD!!!

Surprisingly, I am as excited today to write GEM as I was a year ago.  I’m not as fearful, which is a blessing, and I’m still not exactly sure where this adventure is leading me.  The cool thing is that I’ve finally come to the point where it doesn’t matter where I end up because I’m DOING what God wants me to do.  At last…I’m DOING!

Thought you might be interested in the three things I’ve learned in the past year:

  1. God has a purpose for ME (and you). And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
  2. God wants me to DO for Him.  And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17
  3. God is whom I need to follow (not the world). For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10

God’s guidance has surely brought me through this year’s journey with GEM and He has blessed me beyond measure with His love, peace, joy and hope.  These gifts are precious and most appreciated in the trials of life.  I can only pray that God will continue to lead my life and give me His desires and strength to turn away from sin.

I would be remiss if I didn’t give a big SHOUT OUT to YOU!!!  Each and every one of YOU!  You guys have made me want to continue even on the days when I thought no one would read GEM.

God always knew when I needed to be supported because He would put one of YOU in front of me to hearten and lift me up.  Moreover, God has placed each of you in my path to help me grow closer to Him and for that, I’m eternally grateful.

Last, but definitely not least…thank you to Kelly and Heather.  There are no words to explain how much you mean to me and how much I love you.  Thank you for your never-ending encouragement.  GEM would never have graced the World Wide Web without you.

Please pray for me to obey, follow and trust in God all the days of my life.

Happy anniversary, GEM.

Some Wisdom for Today:  Proverbs 27:1 – Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.

Congrats on the Anniversary! I am sure that it will be the first of many. I always look forward to your posts.

In this relatively new internet age, God will continue to use His people’s talents and technology to further the good news and encourage an ever growing Body of Christ. Even with 1000’s of miles between believers, we can encourage each other, continue to grow in our faith, and strengthen our walk with Him. I know that you are helping to stoke the fire for Christ in others including me. We all can use a little encouragement!

Oh my darling! Your GEMS have brought so much to my life. Your humility to share what you love, through admitted uncertainty is what makes your blog so very special. It’s a reminder of imperfection in us all, with continued hope that we all work towards being the people God has called us to be. Your talent has never ceased to amaze me. I love you and so blessed by you! Keep up the inspirational words and here’s to many more years of GEMS!
