Meeting Jesus

photo(8)Sunday’s Easter service was amazing!  Not only was I able to worship with friends and family, but I also learned that hallelujah means “Praise God” and that amen means “I believe it.”  Love it when I learn new stuff!!!

As I listened to the sermon that listed the many prophesies of the coming of Christ and what would happen and then to the numerous scriptures of fulfillment of said prophesies, I was filled with a sense of awe that our Almighty God has given us a way to have salvation even though we REALLY don’t deserve it!

Wow!  I continued to be amazed at God’s love for us.

Meeting Jesus is the first step.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. Revelations 3:20

Each and every one of us has the opportunity to choose to follow Jesus Christ.  This life won’t necessarily be the easy way, but it is the best way for He loves us like no else can or will.

Realizing that Jesus walked the earth to provide us an example to be our guide is almost mind-boggling.  Again, He did this so that we would know He understands our heartbreaks, worries, struggles, wants and desires.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15

Who better to turn to than the One who knows us intimately and still loves us?

Think about it.  Jesus knows every piece of dirty laundry we have ever secretly hidden away so that no one will know how filthy we actually are.  Yet, he still chose to DIE for us!

Yes, I am a Jesus freak.  You want to know why?  Well, it’s because I know the freedom that turning to Him and casting my cares on Him brings.

Meeting Jesus has changed my life.  It brings a peace that is beyond human understanding and a hope that is like no other.

Knowing that humans are fallible and not worthy of my worship only makes me love Jesus more because He was perfect and loved EVERYONE.  He looked beyond the false masks we all wear and called us out to turn from our sin and follow him.

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.  For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.  For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.  More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Romans 5:6-11

Have you met Jesus?  What has been the outcome?

Some Wisdom for Today:  Proverbs 24:21-22 – My son, fear the Lord and the king, and do not join with those who do otherwise, for disaster will arise suddenly from them, and who knows the ruin that will come from them both?
