Who Are You Following?

cross photoEverything you read on the internet is not TRUE. (Reminds me of the State Farm commercial about the French model…hee, hee!!)

Recently, I learned this the hard way after seeing a post on Facebook that Joel Osteen was leaving the Christian church and delving into atheism. There were many comments on a linked website about how his church couldn’t go on without him and how much they needed him.

Then I read more posts on my friend’s FB page that led me to believe the rumor was a hoax.  Did my own research and sure as shitake noodles…it was FAKE.

Don’t have a clue where this rumor came from or why, but the realization I ended up with was that no matter what man does or doesn’t do…it has NO affect on my relationship with Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father.

For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1Timothy 2:5

Preachers, teachers, friends, family and really great speakers are just HUMAN.  They are not to be worshiped or put on a pedestal.  When and/or if we do those things, we are setting ourselves up for huge disappointment because we are all FALLIBLE!!

Imperfection is the human condition. And our lack of wisdom of whom we follow CAN harm us.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1John 4:1

How often do we follow people instead of God?  How often do we place our trust in humans and then become discouraged because they let us down?

No person, be him great or small, is in charge of our soul and eternal life, except for God’s son whom is spoken about in the Old Testament and prophesized about coming to save the world AND THEN DID.

In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshipped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14

I believe Jesus fulfilled prophesy.

Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago. Acts 3:19-21

As I’ve said before, the world is full of bad people and bad things, but following God instead of the world (or TV ministers, famous authors, etc.) WILL give us the peace that is beyond human understanding and eternal life with HIM.

Plus, Wisdom and Peace together create a wonderful alliance because the more wisdom we have, the more peace we experience and the more peace we possess the more we value our wisdom or seek for more.

These two gifts from above are precious and can truly be found within the pages of the Holy Bible – not from man, regardless of whether he/she is Christian.

So, today, I place my hope in the only man who lived with Heavenly perfection and that is our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Thank you, God, for sending Jesus to die for my sins so that I won’t have to.

Now, that is some good news!!!

Some Wisdom for Today:  Proverbs 8:35-36 – For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord, but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death.

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one cometh unto the Father but by Me.” John 14:6 I think that says about everthing that we need to know about Whom to follow! I just pray that I will be obedient in His call to do so.
