Turning the Big 4-0

Tomorrow is my birthday!!  WOOHOO!  Shoot off the fireworks!  Strike up the band!  LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!

Can you tell I’m a tad-bit excited?  Doesn’t everyone celebrate their birthday for the whole MONTH??  BAHAHA!!

Instead of throwing in the towel since I’m turning 40 this year, I have let loose and embraced the opportunities of the next decade!  In fact, I think it’s only gonna get better from here.

I’m ready to march right through 40 to the beat of my own drum and let God set the time!  It’s a perfect duet!

Obviously, I don’t know my future.  But I do know WHO holds the future.  And that is cause to whoop it up!

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Roman 8:38-39

There is no doubt that I’ve made a plethora of mistakes in the last 40 years, but it’s time for a do-over because I’m free through the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ who is my intercessor, redeemer and savior!!

So…how am I going to live in my 40+ future?  Well, here are a few ways.

  1. Do more loving.
  2. Do more praying.
  3. Do more praising.
  4. Do more worshipping.
  5. Do more giving.
  6. Do more singing.
  7. Do more writing.
  8. Do more helping.
  9. Do more laughing.
  10. Do more thanking!!

For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. Romans 2:13

Life is flying by and I am prepared to grab the wings and enjoy the ride.

May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you! May those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great!” Psalm 70:4

Blessings, trials, sins and salvation have riddled my life up ‘til now.  I believe this cycle will continue with each breath I take.  However, the Lord continues to work on my heart to mold me into what He created me to be.

God-willing, I will have another 40 years to use the wisdom and love God has so graciously given to me and actually get it right this time!!

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Forty ain’t looking so bad!!!

Some Wisdom for Today:  Proverbs 9:6 – Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of understanding.

Happy Birthday early! I will wish you the same that Moses spoke into Aaron on how to Bless the Sons of Israel: Numbers 6:24-26: 24 The Lord bless you and keep you. 25 The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. 26 The Lord lift up His face to you and give you peace.

That is an excellent list of 10 things to work on. I spent the better part of my first 40 years in this world on me. I am going to try to live the next 40 (God Willing) for Him! Again, Happy Birthday.
