Out of The Comfort Zone

IMG_0699Sorry about completely bailing on last week’s two GEMs!!!  BOO!!!

Frankly, I was exhausted from starting my new job and I just didn’t take the time to write.  Hopefully, as time goes on, I will get used to my new hours and I will find the time to practice the craft that God so graciously blessed me with!

Even though I missed writing, I sure did learn a lot!

For example, during the past week I’ve heard many times in my training and such about urging people past, through or out of their comfort zone.

YIKES!  Not sure I know anyone who likes that!

Let’s be clear.  I can really relate right now about being out of my comfort zone!!  For one, I’m doing something (going into an office daily) that I haven’t done since 2001.  YES…14 years!  CRAZY!!

Even though I’ve been scared, I knew that if I wanted to grow, I HAD TO MOVE.

For me, that meant get a job outside of the home and make a huge change in my life and family.

Yours may be simple or it may be drastic.  Either way, we ALL must push past our comfort zone in order to truly experience the best parts of life.

I know, I know.  It kind of stinks that we can’t just float through life on Cloud 9!  Man, that sure would be sweet!!!

However, life isn’t like that.  In fact, the sooner we realize this and subsequently do something about it, the faster we will be amazed at the results we will reap from our MOVING!

Of course, God’s always looking for a way for me to include Him in my life, so it’s no shocker that when I was looking for scriptures about pushing past our comfort zone, I found the following:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2Corinthians 1:3-4

I love that what I see first and foremost in this passage is that life is NOT comfortable and our comfort only comes from God.

WOW!!!  Love it when God gives me a little glimpse of insight!

The truth is that fear keeps us all from leading and living the lives we were meant to.  Instead of resting in God’s comfort and security, we all try to push our own agenda and that just doesn’t cut it.

When we place our lives into God’s hands – the Almighty Comforter – we will find life is not easier, but it’s more purposeful.

So, figure out what your comfort zone is and GET OUT OF IT!!!  Strip away the chains, break the mold and start living the life God created you to.

I promise it won’t be pretty, but it will be eternal!!!!

Some Wisdom for Today:  Proverbs 19:23 – The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm.
