Hope

IMG_0568Have you ever wondered what IT is that makes people who are in terrible circumstances or situations continue to move forward after the fact?

Think about it, there isn’t any possible “human” reason to walk through life when the end for each of us is death.  Sad, but true.

So, why are there some people who live through tragedy and actually still have a good attitude and a reason to live?…especially when many of us end up bitter, depressed, down-trodden and absolutely beaten by life (and nothing terrible has even happened).

It’s baffling, but I think I have an answer.

HOPE.

Dictionary.com defines hope as the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.

Hope, to me, is a huge dose of faith and a whole lot of trust in God.  Without faith and trust there is no hope and without even one of them…there, again, is NO HOPE.

For in this hope we were saved.  But hope that is seen is no hope at all.  Who hopes for what he already has?  But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.  Romans 8:24-25

God has given us a tremendous gift with this “hope” business.  It’s like He knew we would need something to get us through each day!!! WOW!!

If you wonder what in the world there is to hope for in our really pathetic and sick world, then think again.  We have LOTS to be hopeful about and here are a few promises from God’s Word!

  1. Salvation through Christ (Acts 4:12)
  2. Eternal life (John 3:16)
  3. Grace (Ephesians 2:8-9)
  4. Joy (John 16:24, 1Peter 1:8)
  5. Peace (2Thessalonnians 3:16)
  6. Love (1John 4:19)
  7. Guidance (Psalm 32:8)
  8. Help in this life (Isaiah 41:10)
  9. Paradise in eternal life (1Corinthians 2:9)
  10. No more tears, pain, crying, death or mourning (Revelation 21:4)

God’s hope is everlasting and specifically for those who love Him!!!

Hang on to God’s hope WITH BOTH HANDS!  It’s what can get us through the toughest of times and it’s why we can be secure in God’s love and trust His will.

Some Wisdom for Today:  Proverbs 23:18 – Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
