She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” … Proverbs 31:25-30

The above scripture describes the attributes of a Godly mom.  She is to be emulated by all of us who have been given the gift of children.

As moms, we have the responsibility to raise our children with Godly morals and values, and most importantly, we have the task of being Godly examples for our children, friends and the world.

These are not easy undertakings because we are fallible and as sinful as the next.

However, with God’s help we can charge ahead with confidence that He will guide us in His infinite wisdom, protection and grace.  We are not alone as we try our best to be the mom God created us to be.

In fact, all of us can be a mom to someone (no matter whether you’ve given birth or not) because the world is lacking in loving, caring people who look after the least, lost and lonely.

As Mother’s Day approaches this Sunday, I challenge you to reflect on how you can love a little more, forgive a little more and be the Hand of God in your world.

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Proverbs 31.:26-27

How do you plan to honor your mother?
