What Would You Do?

What would you do if you could?  Hmmmm….  Good question.

As the year of 2014 is winding down, I’ve been really wondering what should be on my list of goals for the coming year.   And, not just the normal goals (work out and eat better), but the really BIG ones that I’m always too scared to put on the list!!!

In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty. Proverbs 14:23

Do you have any of those scary thoughts of greatness, but never allow yourself to dream too big?  I know I sure do.

These ambitions are the ones that we are scared to admit that we would love to do because then, well, we might actually have to do them.

They are the ones that someone might have dissed at some point and made us feel stupid for even thinking we could attempt them.  They are the ones that make us quake in our shoes with fear because we might fail…or worse yet…succeed.  They are the ones we will always regret for not trying.

Regret…that’s the key.

We act like we have forever in our hands when, in fact, we only have today.

Additionally, we give in to fear instead of living out our purpose and making life great and the world better.

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. Isaiah 43:1-3

Remembering that God is with us ALWAYS and that He will guide us when we are fulfilling His Will is comforting to know when we are dreaming of a successful future.

Are you willing to give God your goals and let Him decide what needs to be done?

Some Wisdom for Today:  Proverbs 29:25 – The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.
