Remembering Christ

Nail photoHey guys!  Sorry I didn’t post on Tuesday, but I have had family in town and wanted to spend every moment I could with those I love and don’t get to see very often!  Therefore, I missed blogging on one of my favorite weeks in the year…Holy Week.

Of course, Holy Week is the week before Easter and means SO much to me, as I am forever grateful for the sacrifice Christ made on the cross for me and you.

Earlier this week, my sister asked me what the nail was doing taped to my kitchen light switch.  The answer stunned me when I said it out loud.

“Well, it’s to remind me that Christ was nailed to the cross because of my sin.”

WOW! Saying that phrase aloud drove a stake right through my heart!!

Yep.  It’s because of the sin that I DO that Christ suffered. YIKES!

For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. 1Peter 2:21

How often do I really consider what Jesus did for my sin? He didn’t just die. He suffered. He was humiliated. He was tormented and tortured.

I forget all too easily why I celebrate Easter and why I should continue to celebrate it every day I live with every breath I take.

Jesus gave me the gift of His life for mine. In addition, He is the example in which I should live by DAILY. Not just on Sunday’s or Christian holidays.

This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:11-12

So, as this Sunday rolls around.  Please remember that Jesus took the nails because He loves US. He wants the best for US. And He chose to give His life for OURS!!

Happy Easter!

Some Wisdom for Today:  Proverbs 6:23 – For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life.

Thanks be to the King of Kings! He took the punishment for sin that we so rightly deserve. Others may be talking about a bunny this weekend, but I will be talking about my Savior and what He has done for us all. My debt is Paid and there is nothing that can separate us from His wonderful love! Hallelujah!
