The Whisper

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets. Hebrews 1:1

Can you imagine hearing the voice of God?  WOW!  I think I’d be in awe, but scared out of my socks!!   Talk about shaking in my boots!  YIKES!

However, in light of the latest devastation in Connecticut and all the other scary things of the world, wouldn’t it be wonderful to be comforted by God’s words!

Well, we can be.  It’s called reading the Bible.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. 2Timothy 3:16

The words may not scream out answers, but if we read it often, we will begin to hear a whisper calling to us and guiding us.

It stands to reason that we will never learn about God and live as he has commanded if we don’t read His WORD.

Personally, I want to hear the whisper.  I want the guidance.  And I want His HOPE because we live in a frightening reality.

The sad truth is that bad things happen.  We live in a world full of evil.  And sometimes, the bad guy wins a battle.  But Jesus Christ has OVERCOME the world!

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

God IS our refuge.  Jesus IS our savior.  And we ARE loved.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, …Psalm 91:1-16

It is so difficult to shake the dread, pain and sadness that come with the evil deeds of others. We will never understand why the innocent must die or suffer.

BUT THERE IS HOPE.

This is where Christmas comes in.  A baby was born of a virgin by God to the common man of the world to show us how to live.  The boy became a man without sin who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could be redeemed.

What GREAT NEWS!  Tell your loved ones, your friends and your neighbors.

Spread the hope that ONLY comes from the Son of God who came so that we could have life!  He LOVES US that MUCH!

Thank you, Jesus!

It’s great to know that God wins in the end.

Some Wisdom for Today:  Proverbs 14:12 – There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
