Honor to Our Soldiers

I know I’ve posted this poem before, but I think yesterday’s Veteran’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to tell those who serve our country how important they are to each and every one of us!!!  God bless the USA!!!!

Thank you!!

My Soldier

He’s my soldier, true and tried.

For our freedom he would have died.

Three wars he fought away from home.

No telling how often he sat alone.

The stories he told with honor and pride

I miss my soldier, true and tried.

A spouse, a dad, a grandpa, too.

He’s brave and strong – one of the few.

The dents and lines that mark his face

Just shows how hard he ran the race.

He told me once not to stop or settle.

Offered wise words, but never did meddle.

This valiant heart; courageous and bold.

When God made him he broke the mold.

We find ourselves in war again.

Sons and daughters, lovers and friends.

May we be tough and lend a hand.

Divided we fall.  United we stand.

And then I have my sister’s son.

A brave new soldier and chosen one.

To fight for freedom in lands afar.

A gutsy spirit and rising star.

He’s my soldier, true and tried.

For our freedom he yells the battle cry.

A war he fights far away from home.

No telling how often he sits alone.

The stories he’ll tell with honor and pride.

I miss my soldier, true and tried.
